How to Make Soft and Buttery Milk Bread Loaf
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, watching for a lovely foam to form.
- Whisk together the bread flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Combine the foamy yeast mixture and softened butter with the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough starts to form.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, then cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until it has doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough to release the air, then shape it into a loaf. Put it into a greased loaf pan, cover again, and let it rise for 30 more minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the loaf for about 30 minutes, watching for a golden brown color on top.
- Allow the loaf to cool completely before slicing for enhanced flavor.
