Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before removing.
Assemble the Ice Cream Cake
- Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
- Place one layer of the cake on a serving plate. Spread half of the softened vanilla ice cream on top.
- Drizzle some chocolate syrup over the ice cream layer.
- Add the second layer of cake on top and spread the chocolate ice cream over it.
- Cover the cake with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.
Decorate and Serve
- Remove the cake from the freezer and frost the top and sides with whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings and drizzle more chocolate syrup on top.
- Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy!
