- Gather your ingredients: fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Rinse the basil leaves under cool water and pat them dry.
- Peel and halve the garlic cloves.
- Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
- In a food processor, combine the toasted pine nuts, basil, garlic, and grated Parmesan. Pulse until finely chopped.
- With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
