Ingredients
  

Green Beans
  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed and washed
Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Oil
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

Prepare the Green Beans
  1. Trim the ends of the green beans and wash them thoroughly.
Make the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
Heat the Oil
  1. In a deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Green Beans
  1. Dip each green bean into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place them in the hot oil.
  2. Fry in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried green beans and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve
  1. Serve hot as an appetizer or side dish.
