- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch round cake pan by lining it with parchment paper and greasing the sides.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter, stirring gently until melted and smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cooled chocolate mixture and granulated sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition.
- Sift in cocoa powder and vanilla extract, gently folding into the batter until well blended.
