Ingredients
  

For the Chili
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
For the Hot Dogs
  • 4 pieces hot dogs beef or turkey
  • 4 pieces hot dog buns soft
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Method
 

Prepare the Chili
  1. In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook the Hot Dogs
  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat. Grill hot dogs for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until heated through and grill marks appear.
  2. Place grilled hot dogs in buns and top with the prepared chili and shredded cheddar cheese.
