Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare your baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Toss the fresh pitted cherries in a mixing bowl with ¼ cup of sugar. Allow the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, remaining sugar, baking powder, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumble mixture evenly into the bottom of your baking pan.
- Pour the cherry filling over the crumb base, spreading it out evenly. Top with the remaining crumble mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool in the pan.
- Slice the cooled bars into squares for serving.
