Ingredients

Filling
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 bunch parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 4 sheets brick pastry
  • 1 cup oil for frying

Method

Prepare the filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, chopped onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Assemble the bricks
  1. Take one sheet of brick pastry and place a spoonful of the tuna mixture in the center. Fold the pastry over to form a triangle, sealing the edges by pressing them together.
  2. Repeat the process with the remaining sheets and filling.
Fry the bricks
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the filled bricks to the pan, frying until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  2. Remove the bricks from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve
  1. Serve hot with a side of lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Bricks can be prepared in advance and frozen before frying. Just fry them straight from the freezer, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.
