Ingredients

Beef Ribs
  • 4 pounds beef back ribs Trimmed
Dry Rub
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for heat
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Your favorite brand

Method

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
  2. In a bowl, mix together all the dry rub ingredients.
  3. Rub the dry mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
Grill the Ribs
  1. Preheat the grill to a low heat, around 225°F (107°C).
  2. Place the ribs bone-side down on the grill. Close the lid and cook for about 3 to 4 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature.
  3. Baste the ribs with barbecue sauce during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  4. Check the internal temperature of the ribs; they should reach at least 190°F (88°C) for optimal tenderness.
Serve
  1. Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Slice between the bones and serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

For best results, use a charcoal grill for a smoky flavor. You can also add wood chips for extra smokiness.
