Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the canned baked beans.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
