Beans and Beef
  • 1 can canned baked beans 15 oz can
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the canned baked beans.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
