Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Assemble Casserole: Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese on top, then arrange tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
  • Bake: Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
