Description

Teriyaki chicken is a crowd-pleasing dish that combines tender, juicy chicken with a sweet and savory marinade. This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for grilling, baking, or stir-frying, making it an adaptable choice for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade (reserve marinade) and grill for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. In a saucepan, simmer the reserved marinade until thickened (about 5 minutes). Brush this glaze over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling.
  5. Once cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F), let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
