- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–4 tbsp heavy cream or milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling. Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the filling, then add remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, whisk powdered sugar with heavy cream or milk for the glaze and drizzle generously over the cake.
