  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream and gradually add cheddar until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potato layer. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes and sauce.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle panko and Parmesan on top, then bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
