Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 2 cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Instructions

  • Cut mozzarella sticks in half and freeze for 15 minutes until firm.
  • Set up three shallow bowls: flour in first, beaten eggs in second, and breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning in third.
  • Dip each cheese stick in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crispiness.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
