- 1 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1½ cups dark chocolate chunks
- 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Brown butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty-smelling, then cool completely.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together. In another bowl, beat cooled brown butter with both sugars until combined.
- Beat in eggs, bourbon, and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chunks and pecans.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop rounded tablespoons onto lined baking sheets and bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
Notes
- Toast pecans beforehand for enhanced flavor
