These indulgent cookies combine nutty brown butter, rich bourbon, toasted pecans, and chunks of dark chocolate for an elevated twist on classic chocolate chip cookies. Each bite offers a perfect balance of crispy edges and chewy centers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1½ cups dark chocolate chunks
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Brown butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty-smelling, then cool completely.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together. In another bowl, beat cooled brown butter with both sugars until combined.
  • Beat in eggs, bourbon, and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chunks and pecans.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drop rounded tablespoons onto lined baking sheets and bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

Notes

  • Toast pecans beforehand for enhanced flavor
