Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms

  • Author: teprod
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Tender, juicy mushrooms sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce, reminiscent of your favorite steakhouse side dish. These mushrooms are perfect as an appetizer or alongside your favorite steak dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional splash of white wine

Instructions

  • Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel and trim stems if needed. Leave smaller mushrooms whole and cut larger ones in half.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add mushrooms to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture.
  • Continue cooking until liquid evaporates and mushrooms are golden brown, about 5-8 minutes more.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Add optional splash of wine and let it reduce for 1 minute.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For best results, don’t wash mushrooms under running water; they absorb too much moisture
  • Use room temperature mushrooms for better browning
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure proper caramelization
