Description
Tender, juicy mushrooms sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce, reminiscent of your favorite steakhouse side dish. These mushrooms are perfect as an appetizer or alongside your favorite steak dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional splash of white wine
Instructions
- Clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel and trim stems if needed. Leave smaller mushrooms whole and cut larger ones in half.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add mushrooms to the pan. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release their moisture.
- Continue cooking until liquid evaporates and mushrooms are golden brown, about 5-8 minutes more.
- Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Add optional splash of wine and let it reduce for 1 minute.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For best results, don’t wash mushrooms under running water; they absorb too much moisture
- Use room temperature mushrooms for better browning
- Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure proper caramelization
