Description
Juicy, tender chicken glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic soy sauce. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs or breasts (boneless, skinless)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Make Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Stir in soy sauce, honey, and vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
- Thicken Sauce (Optional): If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir into the sauce and simmer until thickened.
- Glaze Chicken: Return chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and coated in the glaze.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve hot with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Swap chicken thighs with drumsticks or wings for variety.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
